Facebook: News Feed Limit set to 250 People.

February 11th, 2010 | 4 Comments »

It seems that Facebook are now choosing which 250 friends people are most interested in and only posting those people to the News Feed. This limit has been imposed recently and needs to be manually reset for people to be able to see all of their friends again. Strange I know, but there’s an easy fix:

1. Go to your Facebook home page
2. Scroll down to the bottom of the News Feed and you’ll see the ‘Edit Options’ link on the right hand side. Click it.
3. A popup will appear with a ‘Number of friends’ text box. Update that to 9999 and click ‘Save’.

Whether this limit remains in place permanently is hard to say, but what’s even more worrying is that it seems to include pages that you’re a Fan of… which means that resetting your limit is even more important.

already tried that and i clicked on all my friends and groups i was using but it keeps resetting itself to whatever facebook wants, facebook seems to want to chose for me who i want news from instead of me or anyone else chosing!

When I click on the Edit options, I see a popup that says “The following streams are hidden from your News Feed. Click “Add to News Feed” to see their posts again.” and I see no entries in the list.

Hidden Pixel needs to update their post on Hidden Posters :-)

Dave – heheh, that’s a good point… I think this might be related to the new home page layout – if it hasn’t reached you yet then this limit might not be in place. When it is you should see it appear below the list of users that are blocked from your Feed.

    If that isn’t it, I haven’t got a clue!

  • I am very Happy to be a Fan and I love playing Pet Pupz. I will go on to the Edit Options now.
